"For God so loved the world that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
John 3:16
We read in the Bible that God loves us. It is in His very nature to love us and we never have to do anything to earn it. In 1 John 4:10 we read, "This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins." This is a great comfort for those who have come to know Jesus personally.
The love of God is not only stated in His Word, but it is also demonstrated in the sending of His own Son to die for us. Even to this day, this work of Christ continues to confound the world and gives great assurance, because He proves His love through His willingness to take upon the judgment of God for our sins, whereby the Cross becomes the bridge by which man may have a personal relationship with God for all eternity.
“For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died.”
2 Corinthians 5:14
If the Lord has been drawing you, we encourage you to receive Him into your life by doing the following:
- Admit, “I am a sinner.”
- Confess and be willing to turn from your sin.
- Believe, by faith that Jesus Christ died for you on the cross.
- Receive, through prayer, Jesus Christ into your heart and receive eternal life.
Pray, with a sincere heart, something like this…
Dear Lord Jesus,
I know that I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness. I believe that You died on the cross for my sins. Please forgive me for my sins and cleanse me by Your blood. I accept You by faith as my personal Lord and Savior. Give me a thirst for Your Word and Help me to follow You all of my days. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

What have you just done?
By accepting Jesus into your life as your Lord and Savior, you have entered into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Before confessing Him by faith, you were an enemy of God because your sins had separated you from Him. The Bible says, “Your iniquities [sins] have separated you from your God…“ (Isaiah 59:2). Now, by asking Jesus into your heart, you are free from the bondage of sin and are under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Before accepting Jesus you were ruled by sin, but now the Spirit will rule you. Romans 8:5 says, “For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.”
